A law firm is seeking an Innovation Attorney - E&I and Finance for its Los Angeles office. The candidate will support the firm's innovation efforts to enhance the delivery of legal services, focusing on the E&I and Finance business units. They will collaborate closely with the Global Head of Practice Innovation and other members and leaders within these units to develop and improve practice content, client-facing solutions, and streamline service delivery through the use of technology and process enhancements.

 

Duties:

  • Develop and improve practice content to streamline legal service delivery, including maintaining and automating precedent libraries and organizing deal documents.
  • Lead projects to develop and improve client-facing solutions, such as improving client/deal intake processes and sharing deal metrics.
  • Streamline and improve the delivery of legal services by supporting the firm's data strategy, digitalizing the practice through automation, and leveraging available resources and technology.
  • Oversee the integration of AI, including generative AI, into legal practice to automate workflows and documents.
  • Evaluate the efficient delivery of legal services through internal data analysis, external benchmarking, and monitoring market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Educate legal professionals on practice content, client-facing solutions, technology, and other initiatives to enhance legal services.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris doctorate (.) from an accredited university or college with admission to practice in good standing in a US jurisdiction.
  • 4+ years of experience as an E&I attorney in a large law firm.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas in layman's terms.
  • Familiarity with best practices and technology to manage workflows, documents, and communications.
  • Understanding of knowledge management, practice management, and efficiency principles.
  • Enthusiasm for legal technology, including AI and generative AI, in legal services.
  • Strong analytical, project management, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, public relations, and diplomacy skills.

 

Education:

Juris doctorate (.) from an accredited university or college.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice in good standing in a US jurisdiction.
