Job Overview: A law firm in Richmond, VA, seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney to engage in all aspects of litigation and alternative dispute resolution. The ideal candidate must possess excellent research and writing skills, demonstrate critical thinking abilities, and effectively communicate and collaborate with clients and team members.

Duties:

• Engage in all aspects of the litigation and alternative dispute resolution process.
• Work directly with clients to understand their needs and provide legal counsel.
• Collaborate with a team on a variety of litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Manage case files, including organizing documents, correspondence, and evidence.

Requirements:

• 5-7 years of prior litigation experience.
• Admission to practice law in Virginia.

Preferred Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Virginia State Bar.

Skills:

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong collaborative skills.
• Substantive experience in complex commercial disputes, employment litigation, and/or real estate disputes is preferred.
