Job Overview: A law firm in Santa Monica, CA, is seeking a skilled and experienced Antitrust Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analyzing transactions for competition issues, and possess expertise in merger control filing requirements, particularly with the Hart-Scott-Rodino (“HSR”) Act and its implementing Rules. Advocacy experience before the DOJ and FTC, especially in the fields of technology, life sciences, and private equity transactions, is highly valued.

Duties:

• Conduct substantive analysis of transactions for competition issues.
• Navigate procedural intricacies related to the Hart-Scott-Rodino (“HSR”) Act and its implementing Rules.
• Manage filing logistics for HSR compliance.
• Advocate before the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in antitrust matters.
• Specialize in technology, life sciences, and private equity transactions.

Requirements:

• Experience in analyzing transactions for competition issues.
• In-depth knowledge of the Hart-Scott-Rodino (“HSR”) Act and its implementing Rules.
• Familiarity with substantive analysis, procedural issues, and filing logistics related to HSR compliance.
• Proven advocacy experience before the DOJ and FTC in antitrust matters.
• Background in technology, life sciences, and private equity transactions is advantageous.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California Bar (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly).
