A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Civil Litigation Attorney for their Santa Rosa, CA office. The ideal candidate should possess 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in commercial, real estate, and employment litigation.

Job Overview:

The Mid-Level Civil Litigation Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in civil litigation matters, including but not limited to commercial, real estate, and employment disputes. They will handle various aspects of litigation, from case inception to resolution, with opportunities for second-chair trial experience and appeals.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant case law and statutes.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, including taking and defending witness testimony.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and staff on case strategy and trial preparation.
  • Maintain communication with clients regarding case developments and strategy.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing civil litigation law.
  • Experience in commercial, real estate, and/or employment litigation preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Certifications:

  • California State Bar Admission.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Experience with case management software.
  • Familiarity with local court rules and procedures.
  • Strong advocacy and courtroom presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies.
