Associate General Counsel at Reputed Firm - Anchorage, AK

Reputed firm Chugach Electric Association, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Associate General Counsel to assist the Chief Legal Officer in the legal representation of the company. The position offers a full-time employment opportunity with a competitive salary, dependent upon the candidate's skills and experience. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited US law school and be licensed to practice law in Alaska or in any state with reciprocity. A minimum of three years of progressively responsible legal experience is also required.

In this role, the Associate General Counsel will be responsible for assisting the CLO with corporate governance and legal matters, conducting litigation or monitoring outside counsel, and providing guidance to the Board and management on legal issues. They will also assist in regulatory processes, insurance policy matters, and contract negotiations. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of municipal, state, and federal laws affecting electric utilities, as well as specialized legal skills such as legal research and writing, contract drafting and negotiation, and litigation skills. They must also be comfortable speaking in public and have proficiency with standard office PC and Microsoft Office suite.

This position does not have supervisory responsibility and is located in Anchorage, Alaska's largest city, at the base of the Chugach Mountains. The work environment is a standard office setting with occasional travel required and after-normal-working-hours work for Board and member committee meetings.
