A law firm in El Segundo is seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney who is currently admitted to a State Bar or pending Bar results. The candidate will perform an initial case evaluation, develop a case strategy, and manage a caseload of 150 - 250 workers’ compensation cases. Additionally, they will be responsible for delegating tasks to support staff, conducting effective discovery, evaluating medical records, negotiating settlements, making appearances on behalf of clients, and drafting legal documents.

 

Duties:

  • Perform initial case evaluation and develop case strategy.
  • Manage a caseload of 150 - 250 workers’ compensation cases.
  • Delegate tasks and oversee work product of support staff.
  • Conduct effective discovery to procure evidence for successful litigation.
  • Evaluate medical records and reports under AMA Guides to Permanent Disability 5th Edition criteria.
  • Negotiate settlements and provide recommendations to clients on legal issues.
  • Make appearances on behalf of clients at depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Draft settlements, trial briefs, appellate briefs, petitions, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain excellent written and verbal communication with all parties involved.

 

Requirements:

  • Currently admitted to a State Bar or pending Bar results.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a large caseload efficiently.
  • Prior experience in workers’ compensation law is preferred.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
