Position Summary:

- Seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional with experience in tax-exempt organizations
- Providing federal tax compliance and consulting services to various non-profit industries
- Working with clients actively involved in philanthropy and community improvement
- Opportunity for growth and development within Deloitte's Business Tax Services Tax-Exempt practice

What You'll Do:

- Serve non-profit clients including health care providers or plans, private foundations, public charities, higher educational institutions, and other non-profit organizations
- Provide tax compliance and consulting services including restructuring, acquisition planning, tax controversy, philanthropic tax planning, and more
- Work directly with clients, manage tax engagement team, and have access to a network of specialists for support
- Collaborate with like-minded Tax-Exempt specialists from across the country
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships
- Advise clients on various tax issues
- Oversee federal tax compliance and consulting projects for entities and their affiliates

The Team:

- Large national team of experienced professionals dedicated to serving non-profit organizations and donors
- Comprised of PPMDS, as well as specialists in multi-state tax compliance, international tax compliance and consulting, and transfer tax planning
- Collaborates with Consulting, Audit & Assurance, and Advisory colleagues on client projects
- Includes a cross-functional team of tax, audit, and consulting professionals from Deloitte's Global Center for Excellence in Philanthropy (GCEP)

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to work within a hybrid work model, co-locating in person 2-3 days per week
- 3+ years' experience in federal taxation with a focus on tax-exempt organizations
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field
- One of the following accreditations: Licensed CPA, licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, Chartered Financial Advisor, Certified Financial Planner
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on work and clients served

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
- Previous experience with Big 4 or large CPA firm
- Solid understanding of federal tax compliance, tax analysis, and tax research
- Knowledge of mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring specific to tax-exempt organizations
- Strong research, writing, presentation, and communication skills
- Management experience
- Strong analytical skills
