A law firm in Chico is seeking an Attorney to join its team. The role involves working in a dynamic setting with diverse tasks including direct client communication, drafting, strategizing, and preparing estate planning documents, as well as probate court appearances. Manage a large caseload of Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Probate, and Medi-Cal Benefits Planning cases. Draft trusts, wills, estate plans, probate court petitions, and similar documents. Provide high-quality work products, meeting client expectations and deadlines.

 

Duties:

  • Handle cases from inception to conclusion.
  • Independently make decisions with supervision from the Managing Attorney.
  • Personally appear in probate court hearings.
  • Develop strategic approaches and provide leadership to team members.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and relevant parties.
  • Report on caseload at weekly meetings.
  • Prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lead Paralegals and Support staff effectively and efficiently.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Probate, and/or Elder Law.
  • Distinguished academic record from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed with the California State Bar.
  • Certified Specialist - Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law preferred.
  • Familiarity with a variety of estate planning concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • High proficiency in computer skills.
  • Relevant experience in civil litigation, real estate law, tax, and/or business law encouraged.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Certified Specialist - Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law preferred.
