A law firm is seeking an Attorney to join their team in Roanoke, VA. The Attorney will play a pivotal role in providing legal counsel to clients, overseeing staff, preparing legal documents, and representing clients in court proceedings. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and public speaking skills, along with proficiency in legal research tools and the ability to work independently.

 

Duties:

  • Prepare various legal documents, including motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining the proper course of action.
  • Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff.
  • Work closely with and provide leadership to administrative staff regarding client billing, meetings, invoicing, and finalizing client projects.
  • Conduct legal research and draft briefs, pleadings, and motions.
  • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings.
  • Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office suite for legal tasks.
  • Handle multiple files independently.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Representation of clients for at least 2 years is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (.) degree from an accredited law school.
