Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a Junior to Mid-Level Patent Agent to join its dynamic team in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, with at least 2 years of prosecution experience at a firm or in-house for associate applicants. Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution activities, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as preparing responses to office actions.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and inventors to gather necessary information for patent filings.
  • Participate in patent analysis, opinions of counsel, and Inter Partes Reviews (IPRs) as needed.
  • Stay updated on evolving patent laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of prosecution experience at a law firm or in-house (for associate applicants).
  • Experience writing patent applications or office actions is strongly preferred (for engineer or agent applicants).
  • Undergraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Strong preference for a Computer Science and/or software background.
  • Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Optics, Biomedical Engineering with an electrical emphasis, or Physics.
  • Graduate-level experience or an advanced technical degree is a plus.
  • Involvement with patent analysis/opinions of counsel and IPRs is a plus.
  • Admission to the USPTO is a plus.
