Trial Counsel – Fresno and Bakersfield (Remote)

Allstate is seeking a Trial Counsel to join their legal team in Fresno and Bakersfield. Job Summary:

- Represent Allstate and insureds in bodily injury, property damage, and financial cases
- Prepare and conduct hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions
- Assist colleagues and provide project management and coordination
- Conduct research, drafting, reviewing, advising, and negotiating
- Provide budget oversight

Key Responsibilities:

- Review new file assignments and develop strategy
- Maintain contact with clients and provide updates
- Review evidence and prepare witnesses for legal proceedings
- Conduct depositions and examinations under oath
- Prepare and conduct court appearances
- Try and/or arbitrate cases and prepare motions
- Draft post-trial motions and participate in appeals
- Provide legal opinions and pursue subrogation litigation
- Review legal issues sent to home office and participate in business process reviews

Common Responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice and counseling
- Draft and negotiate agreements and correspondence
- Understand business goals and implement change
- Lead project management initiatives and manage outside counsel
- Attend meetings and participate in relevant industry groups

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience:

- Juris doctorate and license to practice law in California
- 5+ years of related experience
- Computer skills, including MS Office suite
- Demonstrates ethics and integrity
- Experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department
- Knowledge of legal holds and discovery processes
- Budget management and project management skills
- Ability to supervise and coach team members

Notes:

- Ability to work remotely and travel within the Fresno and Bakersfield area
- Compensation offered is $105,, per year, based on experience and qualifications
- Eligible for bonus plan
