The law firm, located in St. Louis, is seeking a Mid-level Patent Agent with a strong academic background and substantial experience in patent preparation and prosecution. The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrical engineering or computer science and a focus on software-related technologies, data science/AI, networking technologies, and machine learning/artificial intelligence. Admission to the USPTO is a prerequisite for this role.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent searches and analyses to assess the patentability of inventions.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in compliance with USPTO regulations.
  • Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and clients to gather necessary information for patent filings.
  • Respond to office actions and other communications from the USPTO.

  • Data science/AI or networking technologies, especially network security.
  • Machine learning/artificial intelligence, in addition to data science and hardware security.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
