A law firm is seeking a Senior Business/Civil Litigation Attorney in San Diego, CA. The Senior Business/Civil Litigation Attorney will handle various business litigation and civil litigation cases, including breach of contract claims, real estate disputes, construction defect disputes, and employment law disputes. They will be responsible for meeting with clients, drafting pleadings, administering depositions, conducting research, making court appearances, participating in trials, negotiating settlements, and other related activities.

 

Duties:

  • Handle business litigation and civil litigation cases
  • Meet with clients to discuss legal matters
  • Draft pleadings, agreements, and other legal documents
  • Administer depositions and conduct witness interviews
  • Propound and respond to discovery requests
  • Conduct legal research and write motions
  • Make court appearances and argue motions
  • Participate in trials, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
  • Handle other activities requested by partners

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed California attorney
  • 10+ years of experience as a licensed attorney
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Detail-oriented with strong drafting and negotiating skills
  • Ability to communicate legal subject matter to non-attorneys
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Business judgment and strategic legal thinking
  • Ability to manage workflow independently to meet firm deadlines
  • Courtroom experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the California State Bar

 

Skills:
