Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a dedicated Post-Conviction Relief Attorney to join their team in Orange, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling post-conviction relief cases, providing legal counsel to clients, and representing them in court proceedings. Duties:

  • Advise clients on their rights and draw up relevant legal documents about their cases.
  • Handle post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, and early termination of probation.
  • Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and guide strategic approaches following each hearing.
  • Manage open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing for other criminal attorneys within the firm.
  • Manage court appearances, draft motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research as necessary.
  • Analyze potential case outcomes based on legal precedents.
  • Efficiently manage workload and prioritize cases effectively.
  • Provide clients with legal analysis to determine potential case benefits.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Criminal Defense or Immigration Law.
  • Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local levels.
  • Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate and strategize with fellow associates.
  • Proficiency in English; bilingual proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for admission.

  • Proficient in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
