With 21 regions and 89 field offices, the USTP has broad authorities in bankruptcy cases and is uniquely positioned to address multi-jurisdictional misconduct and systemic fraud. The USTP ranks in the top 30 percent of federal agency subcomponents and seventh out of 18 components within the DOJ in the 2022 Best Places to Work in the Federal Government rankings. Job Description: The USTP is seeking law student volunteers for the Fall 2024 term. Interns will have the opportunity to work with the Office of the Director (OD) in Washington, DC or in one of the 89 field offices located throughout the country. The OD intern will assist the Director or Deputy Director for Field Operations in a variety of projects related to consumer and chapter 11 bankruptcy law. Field office interns will work with attorneys on various tasks, including preparing for court appearances, developing bankruptcy fraud referrals, and monitoring section 341 meetings. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in bankruptcy, litigation, and administrative law.
