Summary: Deloitte is seeking a Tax Manager for their Private Wealth Tax practice in the West Region. The role involves providing compliance and consulting services to individual clients and their trusts, estates, family offices, investment vehicles, and closely-held business concerns. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge across multiple areas of taxation and be able to deliver solutions to complex tax issues. The position requires at least 5 years of public accounting experience, a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and an active accreditation such as CPA, attorney, or enrolled agent. The role also involves some travel, up to 25%, and the ability to work in a hybrid model with 2-3 days in the office per week. Responsibilities: - Perform high-level reviews of tax research and work papers for individual, fiduciary, partnership, closely-held corporation, estate, and gift tax returns. - Lead client meetings on compliance and consulting projects related to tax planning opportunities and the tax implications of transactions. - Train, mentor, and supervise new and experienced Tax Consultants and Tax Seniors. - Take on lead client-contact roles, billing and profitability analysis, and marketplace eminence building and pursuits. - Focus on the specialized needs of the ultra-affluent, including families with multigenerational wealth, entrepreneurs, family offices, and closely-held business owners. - Provide comprehensive, independent, and objective wealth transfer planning advice. - Help clients make informed, strategic decisions relevant to their personal financial comfort, business and investment needs, family legacy, and charitable giving. - Travel up to 25% for work and client needs. Qualifications: - 5+ years of public accounting experience, with at least 3 years in investment management, or equivalent in law firms or industry. - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field. - Active accreditation such as CPA, attorney, enrolled agent, CFA, or CFP. - Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week. - Ability to travel up to 25% for work and client needs. - Advanced degree such as MST, MAcc, JD, or LLM preferred. - Prior Big 4 experience preferred. - Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting preferred. - Experience reviewing partnership and/or trust documents preferred. - Experience managing projects including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing preferred. - Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Excellent research and writing skills. Salary Information: The wage range for this role is estimated to be between $84,980 to $193,440, taking into account factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. This does not include any applicable geographic differentials. Compensation decisions are made based on individual circumstances and an individual may not be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
