Corporate Counsel, Construction Job ID: 2507194 # Corporate Counsel, Construction Amazon is looking for a Corporate Counsel, Construction to join their team and work on projects that impact all of their unique and cutting-edge lines of business. The Corporate Counsel, Construction will provide legal advice and counsel to the Design and Construction teams and partner with them to build, launch and manage Amazon's operations network facilities in North America and beyond. ## Job Responsibilities The Corporate Counsel, Construction will be responsible for several key duties, including: - Structuring, drafting and negotiating agreements - Managing outside counsel - Counseling internal business clients on construction agreements, project execution and delivery, developer, GC and supply chain management, and pre-litigation disputes - Providing day-to-day business and construction law counseling - Identifying opportunities for and implementing process improvements - Administering and resolving legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships ## Qualifications Applicants for the Corporate Counsel, Construction position should have the following qualifications: - . degree from an accredited law school and active membership in one state bar - 5+ years of legal experience (with at least three years at a law firm) as an attorney - Experience managing complex construction contracts, project execution and delivery issues The following qualifications are preferred: - In-house experience in a technology, Internet company, or real estate / construction company - Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations - Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams - Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines - Strong analytical skills - Practical legal and business judgment and ability to make recommendations to senior business leaders - Strong written and oral communication skills ## Location The Corporate Counsel, Construction position is available in either Arlington, VA or Seattle, WA. ## Compensation The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
