Job Overview: The Partnership Track Tax Associate Attorney will play a vital role in advising clients on complex tax issues and strategic business transactions. This position requires in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and the ability to provide clients with well-informed guidance to optimize their financial situations.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on federal, state, and local tax implications related to various business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.
  • Offer expert guidance on corporate formation, choice of entity, and federal tax audits, including administrative appeals.
  • Assist clients in managing relationships with state and local taxing authorities to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct legal research and provide well-documented, insightful solutions to complex tax issues.
  • Maintain strict attention to detail and filing deadlines to prevent costly errors and legal complications.
  • Collaborate with a team of legal professionals and clients to achieve optimal results.
  • Utilize impeccable research and writing skills to draft legal documents and communicate effectively with clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree and a Master of Laws (.) in Taxation.
  • Eligibility to take the Louisiana Bar exam if licensed outside of Louisiana.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients.
  • Strong work ethic and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Proactive and an initiative-taker who can work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Superior academic credentials, showcasing a strong academic record.
  • Former Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, government experience, and/or experience with international tax issues are a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree
  • Master of Laws (.) in Taxation

Certifications:

  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain the Louisiana Bar if not already licensed in Louisiana.
