A law firm is seeking an Asbestos Associate Attorney for their office in Irvine, CA.

Job Overview:

The Asbestos Associate Attorney will handle local and national accounts throughout California, managing a litigation caseload independently. They will be responsible for conducting depositions, preparing witnesses for deposition and trial, reviewing and analyzing discovery requests, preparing and responding to discovery responses and pleadings, court filings, and service to counsel, with experience in e-filing. Trial preparation and support and maintaining accurate time records are also essential aspects of this role.

Duties:

  • Handle local and national accounts throughout California.
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload.
  • Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
  • Review and analyze discovery requests.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery responses and pleadings.
  • Prepare court filings and service to counsel, with experience in e-filing.
  • Provide trial preparation and support.
  • Maintain accurate time records.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in one or more of the following practice areas: complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Must be admitted to practice in the state of California.
  • Experience with motion practice and depositions.
  • Experience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
  • Capable of independent work.
  • Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Superior research and writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to analyze complex matters.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of California.
