Job Overview: A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Senior Attorney with 5 years of experience in the legal industry to join their team. The Senior Attorney will assist with the discovery process, negotiate settlements, conduct legal research, communicate with clients and third parties, draft legal documents, provide guidance to junior staff, represent clients in court, and stay updated on relevant laws.

Duties:

  • Assist with the discovery process by conducting depositions, issuing interrogatories and requests for the production of documents, and reviewing discovery requests, responses, and responsive discovery materials.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Perform comprehensive legal research.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsels, witnesses, the court, and third parties regarding pending matters.
  • Conduct initial consultations with potential clients as required.
  • Draft various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, notices, discovery requests and responses.
  • Provide guidance and advice to associate attorneys and paralegals to resolve or prevent conflicts.
  • Perform research and draft briefs, pleadings, and motions.
  • Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a 4-year bachelor's degree.
  • Graduation from a 3-year law degree program at an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior associate in the legal industry.
  • Membership in state and local bar associations in good standing.

  • Ability to work independently while managing a heavy caseload.
