A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of patent litigation experience in a private law firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of patent litigation tasks, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation. The role involves engaging with clients and managing complex litigation matters. A technical background, USPTO bar admittance, and Federal District Court or Circuit Court clerkship experience are preferred.

Duties:

  • Compile, organize, and analyze discovery materials in document-intensive cases involving complex business disputes.
  • Engage in discussions with opposing counsel and third parties over discovery disputes.
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, Federal Circuit and Markman briefs, and other litigation documents.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including interviews and gathering electronically stored information (ESI), preferably with experience in document review platforms such as Relativity.
  • Prepare for depositions of fact and expert witnesses to be taken by the litigation team.
  • Argue hearings and provide support to senior litigators in court proceedings.
  • Interact directly with clients, providing strategic litigation and risk management advice.
  • Prepare for and attend trials with the trial team assigned to the matter.
  • Draft correspondence, motions, and other written documents.
  • Demonstrate dedication to litigation and/or trial practice.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 3-6 years of patent litigation experience in a private law firm.
  • Preferred: Federal clerkship experience with a United States District Court or Circuit Court.
  • Experience using ESI protocols and tools.
  • Experience supporting or taking depositions.
  • Experience leading the composition of dispositive motions.
  • Preferred: Law Review/Law Journal or Moot Court experience.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • A commitment to litigation and trial work.
  • Preferred: A technical background and USPTO bar admittance.
  • Experience with complex litigation involving intellectual property, securities, contracts, anticompetitive conduct, and other complex commercial disputes.
  • Specific experience in drafting discovery and dispositive motions, managing eDiscovery using a variety of tools, and supporting lead counsel through depositions and/or trials.
  • Superb communication and writing skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.

Certifications:
