Position Summary:

- Seeking an attorney to serve as general counsel to the Environmental Health Department (EHD) regarding Air Quality issues throughout Bernalillo County including at federal and state facilities.
- This is an unclassified at-will position.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Additional Requirements:

- Must have a .
- Must have 5+ years of experience as a licensed attorney.
- Experience with government agencies, government compliance, real estate, contracts, and policy writing is preferred.
- Must be an active member of the State Bar of New Mexico in good standing, or able to become licensed in New Mexico within three (3) months from date of hire.
- Must possess a valid New Mexico Driver's License or have the ability to obtain by date of hire.
- Must possess a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
- Must submit a resume and writing sample with application.

Responsibilities:

- Serve as general counsel to the Environmental Health Department regarding Air Quality issues in Bernalillo County.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to department staff and management.
- Review and draft contracts, policies, and other legal documents.
- Represent the department in legal proceedings.
- Work with government agencies to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Conduct legal research and analysis.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and the public.

Qualifications:
