Position Summary

Deloitte is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Senior to join our Federal Tax Services (FTS) team in the DART (Depreciation Analysis and Reporting Tool) group. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tax compliance and consulting projects for various entities and their affiliates. You will also have the chance to utilize advanced technologies and process improvements to drive value and efficiency for our clients.

Responsibilities

- Participate in engagements requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates, including reviewing public and tax-specific information.
- Analyze and deploy innovative technologies and processes to enhance client engagements.
- Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues and work closely with local engagement teams and Partners.
- Lead project management and delivery of tax advisory and consulting services to clients.
- Interact with engagement teams both domestically and internationally to ensure proper staffing and participation.

The Team

National Federal Tax Services (NFTS) is a national practice within Deloitte Tax LLP that offers a wide range of tax services. Our team is made up of entrepreneurial and innovative professionals with a strong work-hard/play-hard mentality. We are looking for a Tax Senior to join our team and contribute their expertise and skills in tax compliance and consulting.

Our proprietary DART technology solution enables our tax professionals to drive efficient tax cost recovery calculations and tax planning through advanced technologies and data analytics. As a Tax Senior, you will specialize in a variety of fixed asset centric tax services, including:

- Assisting clients with annual and interim tax cost recovery computations, including computing depreciation and gain/loss for federal and state returns.
- Preparing state tax depreciation schedules and adjustments for states that have decoupled from federal tax depreciation.
- Leveraging advanced global tax depreciation data analytics and visualizations to identify tax planning considerations and potential tax savings.
- Assisting clients with fixed asset system implementations or upgrades.

Qualifications

- Ability to work within a hybrid work model, requiring in-person co-location 2-3 days per week.
- 3+ years of experience in core tax compliance, including federal and/or international.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Ability to travel up to 20% based on the work and clients served.
- Active accreditation, in progress, or willingness to obtain one of the following:
- CPA licensed in state of practice/primary office, if eligible to sit for CPA
- Licensed attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Alternative certification:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)

Preferred Qualifications

- Advanced degree such as MST or MAcc.
- Mid to advanced level skills in MS Project, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with tax depreciation software such as Sage, Bloomberg, or PowerPlan TFA.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective research, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA firm.

Salary Information

The wage range for this role takes into account various factors such as skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate does not include geographic differentials. At Deloitte, it is not typical for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the range, and compensation decisions are based on individual circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $66,570 to $151,580.
