A law firm in Wilmington, DE, is seeking a Junior Creditors' Rights/Bankruptcy Associate Attorney to join its bankruptcy, restructuring, and litigation practice. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with excellent client management skills, strong academic credentials, and legal research and writing proficiency. Experience or interest in corporate bankruptcy, restructuring, creditors' rights, and/or litigation matters is preferred, with particular encouragement for those with bankruptcy judicial clerkships.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on bankruptcy, restructuring, creditors' rights, and litigation matters.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.
  • Assist with case management and preparation for hearings, trials, and negotiations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Participate in meetings and strategy sessions with senior attorneys and clients.
  • Stay updated on developments in bankruptcy law and related fields.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Delaware State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • 1+ year of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, creditors' rights, and/or litigation matters preferred.
  • Experience or interest in corporate bankruptcy and restructuring is highly desirable.
  • Bankruptcy judicial clerkships are considered a significant advantage.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Delaware State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in case management and organization.
