A law firm in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a First Chair Litigation Defense Attorney to oversee a diverse docket of insurance cases. The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer with experience managing and mentoring associates and trying cases in both state and federal court.

Job Overview:

The First Chair Litigation Defense Attorney will manage a diverse docket of insurance cases, provide legal counsel, and mentor associates. They will have significant experience in trying cases in both state and federal court and will be known for their exceptional writing skills.

Duties:

• Oversee a diverse docket of insurance cases
• Provide legal counsel and representation to clients
• Manage and mentor associates
• Try cases in both state and federal court
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
• Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the State Bar in Louisiana
• Significant experience in trying cases in both state and federal court
• Strong writing skills and ability to draft persuasive legal documents
• Experience managing and mentoring associates

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar in Louisiana

Skills:

• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Strong legal research and analytical abilities
• Ability to manage a diverse docket of cases
• Experience in insurance defense litigation is preferred
