Duties:

  • Handle legal matters related to land use, administrative law, zoning, affordable housing, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Subdivision Map Act, historic preservation laws, and the California Coastal Act.
  • Conduct legal research, and analysis, and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and regulatory submissions.
  • Represent clients in hearings, meetings, and negotiations with government agencies and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies and solutions to meet client and team needs.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of solid experience in land use law.
  • Strong interest and enthusiasm for land use issues and trends.
  • Experience in administrative law, zoning, affordable housing, CEQA, Subdivision Map Act, historic preservation laws, and the California Coastal Act.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities with the ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • California Bar membership is in good standing.
