Position Summary:

The Lead Counsel - Complex Commercial Litigation role at Walmart is responsible for managing a docket of commercial litigation cases for the world's largest retailer. The Lead Counsel will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide legal advice and counsel, manage outside counsel, and oversee legal spend.

What You'll Do:

- Create legal strategies for the company's commercial litigation matters
- Develop best practices and procedures to mitigate corporate risk
- Manage outside counsel on commercial litigation cases
- Maintain budget compliance by managing legal fees and litigation costs
- Provide legal advice and counsel to internal stakeholders
- Identify the need for legal support in business transactions and projects
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

What You'll Need:

- Subject matter expertise in complex commercial and class action litigation
- Stay abreast of changes in the legal landscape and contribute to discussions about the law's evolution
- First chair trial experience or experience drafting and arguing significant dispositive motions
- Driven to execute and act quickly
- Process-minded and look for opportunities to streamline for improved efficiency and effectiveness
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience working within cross-functional teams
