A law firm is seeking a Senior Employment Attorney for their Los Angeles, CA office.

Job Overview:

The Senior Employment Attorney will be responsible for handling litigation management, legal research, legal drafting, and other litigation-related tasks for a class action as well as single-plaintiff cases. They will also conduct employment due diligence, advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions, draft and negotiate employment agreements, and advise on reductions in force. Additionally, they will provide counsel on issues such as restrictive covenants, employee mobility, compensation practices, commission plans, employee policies/training, and leave practices.

Duties:

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently and responsively.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work products.
  • Successfully meet deadlines and expectations and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 8 years of experience with employment litigation and counseling.
  • Licensed in California.
  • 8 years of experience in labor and employment, including litigation, transactional, and advice and counsel work.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour laws, the California Labor Code, discrimination laws, and practice before state and federal courts and agencies.
  • Experience in the defense of class and collective actions, as well as PAGA claims.
  • Ability to support transactional groups concerning complex deals and provide day-to-day advice and counsel to clients.
