Saint Louis office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a patent agent with a Bachelor's degree, higher degree, or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, physics, or related degree and/or work experience. The candidate will draft and globally prosecute patent applications in the fields of electrical engineering, computer science, and software-implemented business methods. Will coordinate and correspond with foreign law firms and associates to file foreign patent applications. Review country requirements and obtain foreign filing licenses as required. Maintain client portfolio and provide the client with estimates of costs for future filings and maintenance. Coordinate and review results of patentability, landscape, and freedom-to-operate searches. Assist in the firm's standardized procedures to enhance malpractice prevention. Prepare and send notices to clients regarding upcoming deadlines. Correspond with foreign law firms regarding filings, deadlines, and billings. Anticipate supervising partner or client needs for specific projects. Delegate effectively and as appropriate with paralegals or legal administrative assistants. Design, recommend, and implement new processes and procedures to increase group efficiency. Handle special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned. USPTO registration (or the ability to qualify) is required.
