Job Overview: The Insurance Coverage/Bad Faith Defense Attorney will be responsible for managing complex litigation cases related to insurance coverage and bad faith. This role requires a high level of expertise, including 5+ years of experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to independently handle intricate legal matters.

Duties:

  • Independently manage cases through the entire litigation process, as well as collaborate with the case team when necessary.
  • Conduct thorough fact investigations to gather evidence and build a strong defense.
  • Handle document productions and perform various discovery tasks.
  • Prepare witnesses for deposition, ensuring their effective testimony.
  • Take and defend depositions, representing clients during legal proceedings.
  • Prepare pleadings, briefs, and motions to support clients' cases.
  • Review and analyze insurance policies, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare detailed insurance coverage opinions to guide legal strategies.
  • Prepare for court hearings and attend them as required.
  • Contribute to trial preparation and attend trials when necessary.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation defense.
  • Active licensure in Missouri and Kansas.
  • Ideal candidates will also be licensed in Arkansas.
  • The ability to work independently on complex cases.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal writing, contract analysis, and legal research.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission in Missouri and Kansas (Arkansas admission is a plus).

Skills:

  • Expertise in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation.
  • Case management and litigation strategy capabilities.
