Job Overview: A law firm seeks a qualified Labor and Employment/Education Associate Attorney to provide exceptional legal services to higher educational institutions. The successful candidate will specialize in Title IX, faculty employment, student and academic affairs, and athletics.

Duties:

  • Conduct internal investigations and provide expert advice on legal matters.
  • Handle litigation cases related to employment law in higher educational institutions.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft policies relevant to employment and students.
  • Provide training sessions and counsel clients on legal matters.
  • Serve as an external investigator or hearing officer in Title IX matters.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in employment law, including conducting or advising on investigations.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, court decisions, and legal interpretations of employment and students in higher educational institutions.
  • Experience working with education clients on employment and other areas, with the ability to manage multiple client needs.
  • Background in employment law, both litigation and counseling, preferred.
  • Must be licensed, or eligible to be immediately licensed, in North Carolina.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • State Bar license in North Carolina.
