A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking an accomplished Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of experience in energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions, with a focus on matters involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.

 

Job Details:

  • Handle regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions.
  • Address matters involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
  • Advocate before state utility commissions and handle power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters.
  • Ensure a strong academic record and possess superior judgment.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Handle multiple projects effectively and articulate legal strategies and courses of action.

 

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience preferred.
  • Active Bar license in the state.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Skills:

  • Expertise in energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance.
  • Experience with regulatory matters before state energy commissions.
  • Familiarity with Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Superior judgment and ability to articulate legal strategies.
