A law firm based in San Diego is seeking a dynamic Healthcare Associate Attorney with a strong interest in technology use in healthcare. The ideal candidate should be passionate about leveraging technology to shape the future of healthcare. This position will focus exclusively on digital health, representing startups and founder-led companies across all stages, from pre-formation to capital markets.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support to digital health startups and founder-led companies.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance issues related to healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the formation, structuring, and governance of healthcare technology companies.
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including service agreements, licensing agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Conduct legal research on healthcare regulations and emerging trends in digital health.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address legal issues and provide strategic guidance.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law.
  • 3-7 years of experience in healthcare law, with a focus on regulatory compliance and advising on the corporate practice of medicine.
  • Strong interest in technology use in healthcare and a passion for shaping the future of healthcare through innovation.
  • Experience working with startups and emerging companies preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law.

 

Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Ability to provide practical legal advice in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
