CLA is currently seeking a Tax Manager/Director to join our Exempt Tax Practice team in the Northeast region. This is a full-time position with flexible PTO, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave, and other great benefits. Job Description:

As a Tax Manager/Director in the Exempt Tax Practice, you will have the opportunity to serve clients in the healthcare, higher education, and nonprofit industries. You will use your deep technical skills and industry knowledge to provide high-impact service to clients, as well as assist them with their tax and compliance needs. You will also have the chance to develop and mentor staff and oversee client engagement teams.

Responsibilities:

- Serve tax exempt clients in the healthcare, higher education, and nonprofit industries
- Demonstrate deep technical skills and industry knowledge
- Excel at engagement management and operational excellence
- Assist clients with meeting their tax and compliance needs
- Research and draft technical tax memoranda on various tax issues for clients
- Review and sign a variety of exempt organization returns
- Develop and mentor staff and oversee client engagement teams

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a tax role with a public accounting or professional services firm specializing in tax exempt organizations, or a tax role in higher education, healthcare, or private foundations
- CPA required (JD or Enrolled Agent (EA) may be accepted in lieu of CPA certification)

Salary Information:

The wage range for this position in New York is $122,000 - $185,000. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range.
