The law firm in Atlanta, GA, is currently seeking a Patent Agent to join their dynamic team. This exciting role involves working closely with the Intellectual Property (IP) team to draft and prosecute patent applications before the . Patent & Trademark Office, as well as assisting IP attorneys in various patent-related matters, including Patent Office proceedings and patent litigation. The Patent Agent will also be responsible for conducting patentability assessments, third-party patent searches, and supporting patent diligence for mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, this role includes contributing to patent clearance and enforcement projects.
Qualified candidates for this position should have prior experience in patent application drafting and prosecution, as well as strong skills in patent database searches. They should possess a solid academic and professional background, along with excellent time management skills for a fast-paced environment. Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering and have at least 3 years of experience in intellectual property matters. A USPTO registration number is required, and an advanced technical degree is preferred.
