Job Overview: A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a qualified Staff Attorney to assist in all facets of the Real Estate practice group. The role involves performing due diligence, reviewing title commitments, coordinating and facilitating closings, and other related duties. The ideal candidate should have experience in tax credit transactions, complex commercial real estate transactions, or relevant experience.

Duties:

  • Perform due diligence for real estate transactions
  • Review title commitments and surveys
  • Prepare and resolve objections contained in title and survey comment letters
  • Prepare real estate documents
  • Coordinate and facilitate closings
  • Follow up with post-closing matters
  • Maintain contact with clients
  • Perform overtime as required
  • Examine, evaluate, and summarize large quantities of information
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility for tasks
  • Utilize word processing systems (MS Office) and document management software proficiently
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Work under tight deadlines and respond promptly to client demands
  • Conduct legal research as needed

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience with a large law firm in tax credit transactions, complex commercial real estate transactions, or relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate preferred
  • Familiarity with tax-exempt bonds, low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, partnerships, and limited liability companies (a plus)
  • Ability to perform limited to extensive topical research

Skills:

  • Proficiency with MS Office and document management software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with legal research procedures
