Duties:

  • Assist with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications
  • Provide patentability and clearance opinions
  • Manage patent estates
  • Handle licensing and enforcement of patents
  • Handle high-level and strategic aspects of legal matters from inception to conclusion
  • Produce quality legal work and bill required hours for excellent client service
  • Generate business through group and individual efforts
  • Actively make decisions on client matters with minimal supervision
  • Actively delegate tasks as needed
  • Embrace learning new skills and technology, sharing knowledge with others
  • Work as a diligent member of client teams and begin to lead teams in matters
  • Influence the awareness and adoption of the Firm's values, diversity, and inclusion

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Bachelor's or higher in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Patent preparation and prosecution experience in software, computer science, electrical, or mechanical areas preferred
  • Licensed to practice law in good standing in one or more jurisdictions where the Firm conducts business
  • Registered to practice before the USPTO
  • 1 year of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm (2-8 years preferred)
