The . Department of the Interior's Office of the Solicitor is seeking talented and dedicated law students for their Legal Internship Program. This program offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience advising agencies on the legal aspects of their mission, as well as participating in complex civil litigation and supporting the Department's programs for Native American communities. The program is open to 1L, 2L, and 3L students, as well as recent law school graduates enrolled in graduate law programs.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research on environmental and administrative law issues
- Participate in complex civil litigation before administrative tribunals and federal courts
- Draft legal memoranda, briefs, and motions
- Assist with discovery in active federal cases
- Attend conference calls and strategy sessions with agency counsel and officials
- Opportunities to attend hearings and meetings in Washington . area

Salary: Unpaid internship, but eligible for Transit Subsidy Benefit Program

Qualifications:
- Must be a student in good academic standing
- Eligible students include: undergraduate students enrolled at least half-time, public policy graduate students, first-year (second semester), second- and third-year law students, and law school graduates enrolled in graduate law programs at least half-time
