Responsibilities:

- Conduct research and writing related to transferable tax credits on the state and federal level
- Participate in negotiations and transactions for transferable tax credits
- Calculate federal disaster zone, employer paid leave, and other related state and federal hiring-based tax credits
- Participate in negotiations for state and local incentives
- Conduct research and writing for location-based credits and incentives
- Complete necessary documentation for credits and incentives compliance purposes
- Participate in business development activities as needed
- Develop internal relationships within the firm and help grow external branding

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree required, with an emphasis in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
- Master’s degree in Taxation and/or JD with LLM in Tax preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of related tax experience required; public accounting experience preferred
- CPA, bar membership, or equivalent credential preferred. If not certified, must meet educational requirements to obtain license upon hire in state of employment
- Prior experience with state or federal credits and incentives programs preferred
- Previous experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on state and local tax issues preferred
- Experience with multi-state income, sales/use, gross receipts, property, employment, or other miscellaneous state and local taxes preferred
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent internal and external client service skills
- Strong tax research skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, tasks, and simultaneous projects
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)

- Compensation Range: Washington State - $79,000 - $126,000
- Oregon State - $70,000 - $112,000

Note: Actual pay may vary based on internal equity, knowledge, experience, skillset, and geographic location among other factors. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at the top end of the pay range.
