Duties:

  • Draft various motions and oppositions.
  • Perform legal research to identify legal issues and laws.
  • Meet and confer with defense counsel.
  • Discuss case strategy with experts.
  • Advise clients on available options and plan a course of action.
  • Determine case strategies and solutions to serve clients' needs.
  • Take responsibility for administrative tasks related to client invoicing and meetings.
  • Prepare legal documents such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (.) degree from an accredited law school; representation of clients for at least 2 years is a plus.
  • Current membership in the local Bar association; active membership preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a law firm for a minimum of 1-2 years.
  • Proficiency with legal research software such as Westlaw or Lexis.
  • Ability to quickly identify relevant legal authority.
  • Strong understanding of the Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code.
  • Proven track record of successfully supporting and opposing dispositive motions.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.

 

Education/Certifications:

Juris Doctorate (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Experience:

Prior experience working in a law firm for a minimum of 1-2 years is required.
