A law firm located in Newport Beach, CA, is seeking a Labor and Employment (Wage and Hour) Associate Attorney with experience in wage and hour class actions, PAGA, and FEHA. The ideal candidate will represent clients in labor and employment matters, possess strong organizational and writing skills, and have a desire to develop their legal skills. The Labor and Employment (Wage and Hour) Associate Attorney will represent clients in labor and employment matters, including wage and hour class actions, PAGA, and FEHA cases. They will depose witnesses, prepare cases for trial, and defend challenging cases involving wage and hour violations, employment discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, and other tort claims.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in labor and employment matters, including wage and hour class actions, PAGA, and FEHA cases.
  • Depose witnesses, including expert witnesses, as appropriate for your level of experience.
  • Prepare cases for trial and assist at trial as appropriate for your level of experience.
  • Defend challenging cases involving claims based on wage and hour violations, employment discrimination and harassment, breach of contract, and other tort claims.
  • Update clients through reporting and telephone conferences about significant developments in litigation.
  • Support client development and marketing efforts with the partnership.
  • Develop legal skills through in-firm mentoring, in-house training sessions, and other professional development activities.

 

Requirements:

  • Bar admission in the State of California.
  • Juris doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school (GPA or higher).
  • Experience with wage and hour class actions, PAGA, and FEHA preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a varied caseload.
  • Strong writing skills to communicate effectively with the court, client, and opposing counsel.
