A law firm in El Segundo, CA, is seeking an Attorney to join their team. The Attorney will work independently with a senior attorney on the team to manage a caseload, conduct legal research, handle court appearances and depositions, and communicate with clients. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in medical malpractice, public entities, or civil litigation, and must be licensed to practice law in the state of California.

 

Duties:

  • Work independently with a senior attorney to manage a caseload.
  • Conduct legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Review and analyze legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Handle discovery, including analyzing medical and employment records.
  • Attend court appearances, depositions, and meetings regularly.
  • Communicate with clients and provide status reports on cases.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the State of California.
  • 2-5 years of experience with medical malpractice, public entities, or civil litigation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral advocacy, and writing skills.
  • Experience in insurance defense litigation and familiarity with carrier billing and reporting guidelines preferred.
  • Strong oral and analytical skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the State of California - no exceptions.

 

Skills:

  • Legal research using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
