A law firm in Baton Rouge is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 10+ years of experience and robust renewables experience to complement the Firm’s current energy practice. The ideal candidate will counsel clients on various renewables projects, with a focus on facilities operations and power purchase agreements. Knowledge of wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities, as well as smart grid and energy storage, energy efficiency and demand-side management, are preferred. The candidate must have a portable book of business and be an active member in good standing of the Bar.

 

Duties:

  • Counsel clients on renewables projects, focusing on facilities operations and power purchase agreements.
  • Handle litigation matters related to renewables projects.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on renewables and energy-related issues.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Manage client relationships and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends in the energy sector.

 

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Litigation Attorney.
  • Robust renewables experience, preferably with knowledge of wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities.
  • Portable book of business.
  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing of the Bar.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing of the Bar.

 

Skills:
