Strong research and writing skills are essential for managing a caseload, supervising support staff, and representing clients in court proceedings. Advanced computer skills and active membership in the local Bar association are required.

 

Duties:

  • Work closely with senior partners and administrative staff to serve clients efficiently.
  • Demonstrate excellent research and writing skills in drafting legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Manage a caseload independently, making strategic decisions and counseling clients on the best course of action.
  • Supervise administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerks, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including arguing motions and trying cases.
  • Counsel clients by assessing options and recommending strategies for successful outcomes.
  • Take responsibility for administrative tasks such as client invoicing, scheduling meetings, and managing records.
  • Utilize advanced computer skills for legal research using programs like Westlaw and Lexis.
  • Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for document preparation and communication.

 

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience working in a law firm environment.
  • Active membership in the local Bar association preferred.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Experience managing a caseload and supervising support staff.
  • Courtroom experience, including arguing motions and trying cases.
  • Proficiency in legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) and Microsoft Office suite.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.
