About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Tax Manager/Director – Sales & Use Tax to join our State & Local Tax (SALT) practice. In this role, you will work closely with State and Local Tax and National Leadership to drive SALT growth both internally and externally, with a focus on sales & use tax consulting projects. You will also manage SALT sales & use tax projects, identify opportunities for client growth and risk mitigation, and develop staff to assist with growing and training the SALT team.

Responsibilities:

- Work closely with State and Local Tax and National Leadership to drive SALT growth both internally and externally
- Manage SALT sales & use tax projects and identify opportunities for client growth and risk mitigation
- Represent clients in negotiations with taxing authorities
- Identify clients and targets for SALT’s sales & use tax compliance center
- Develop staff and assist with growing and training the SALT team
- Partner with Industry leaders and NTO to develop thought leadership for sales & use tax
- Serve as a resource to CLA’s national Transaction Tax Services team
- Meet with/build relationships with CRLs and industry leads to drive SALT growth and brand SALT internally and externally
- Contribute to SALT’s growth plans and national growth network initiatives
- Serve as a leader to ensure all CLA risk management policies and procedures are followed

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years experience with professional services in State & Local Tax
- CPA required (JD or Enrolled Agent (EA) may be accepted in lieu of CPA certification)

Salary Information:

The wage range for this position in California is: $121,000-$204,000. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range.
