A law firm based in Brisbane, Australia, is seeking a dynamic M&A Associate to join their team. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to advise a diverse range of clients across various sectors, including consumer markets, technology, financial services, tourism and leisure, mining, oil and gas, renewables, and power. The M&A Associate will be responsible for providing counsel on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, capital raisings, rail and port infrastructure access and pricing, native title, international expansion, market entry, franchising, and commercial law. The position also involves conducting due diligence and drafting documents for complex commercial transactions. The successful candidate will actively participate in business development and marketing initiatives. The firm is looking for a candidate with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) gained within a corporate and commercial practice, ideally in an international or top-tier law firm. Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills are a must, as is the ability to work on high-profile, complex transactions. Exceptional client liaison skills and acute commercial acumen are considered essential for success in this role.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, capital raisings, infrastructure access and pricing, native title, international expansion, market entry, franchising, and commercial law.
  • Conduct due diligence and draft documents for complex commercial transactions.
  • Actively participate in business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Work on high-profile, complex transactions.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of post-qualification experience in a corporate and commercial practice in an international or top-tier law firm.
