Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting legal research, drafting persuasive briefs and motions, representing clients in court, managing case timelines, and engaging in marketing efforts to build client relationships.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft persuasive briefs and motions
  • Solve clients’ problems by conducting client interviews and documenting their stories
  • Propound and respond to discovery of evidence and subpoenas
  • Review client documents, including evidentiary and financial documents
  • Make court appearances and present legal arguments to judicial officers
  • Ensure timely handling of each case and track filings/court deadlines
  • Work with the firm’s marketing department to curate engaging social media posts
  • Attend networking events and conferences to establish and deepen referral relationships
  • Create relevant and educational content for use in video blogs and email newsletters
  • Interview clients and document their stories
  • Assist clients in submitting documents as requested by the attorney

Requirements:

  • Licensed by and Member in good standing of the State Bar of California
  • 4 years in a similar role with demonstrated success
  • Experience handling family law, immigration, employment law, criminal law, and/or litigation
  • Preference for someone who has handled each of these areas as a lead attorney
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of California

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
