Position Summary:

Deloitte is seeking a Tax Senior Manager with experience in serving real estate owners and operators and a solid understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and Real Estate Investment Trust qualification rules. The ideal candidate will have a strategic and creative mindset to solve complex federal tax issues and utilize the latest tax technologies in the real estate industry to serve clients. This role offers the opportunity to develop and implement creative strategies while working with a team of specialists and utilizing state-of-the-art technology.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the Real Estate industry sector
- Assist clients with life events for partnerships, including formations, mergers, and initial public offerings
- Use proprietary technologies to streamline tax compliance processes for clients
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships
- Advise clients on various tax issues, such as REIT qualification and the impact of Tax Reform on passthroughs and other Real Estate clients
- Oversee complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects using state-of-the-art technology and data analytics
- Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing
- Mentor and develop junior staff, including those in the . India office

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM preferred
- 8+ years of total corporate or international tax experience
- Experience with US clients and a basic understanding of US tax preferred
- Strong understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, REIT taxation and qualification, and partnership allocations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience preferred
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on the work and clients served
