Job Overview:

The Litigation Associate Attorney will handle various litigation matters, including but not limited to commercial litigation issues such as breach of contract, tortious interference with contract, and breach of fiduciary duty. The ideal candidate should possess excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills, keen attention to detail and strong verbal and interpersonal communication abilities. The role requires a proactive approach to arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and preparing cases for trial.

Duties:

  • Handle a diverse range of litigation matters, primarily focusing on commercial litigation issues.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and arguments.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
  • Participate in all aspects of litigation, from case initiation through trial and appeal.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as necessary.
  • Assist with case management and organization, including maintaining case files and tracking deadlines.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4+ years of broad-based litigation experience.
  • Strong academic record from a reputable law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar.
  • Experience arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and preparing cases for trial.
  • Specific litigation experience in commercial litigation issues, including breach of contract, tortious interference with contract, and/or breach of fiduciary duty.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills.
  • Consistent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Large law firm experience is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
