Job Overview: A law firm in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Junior Bankruptcy Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate should have completed a judicial clerkship for a bankruptcy judge or possess at least 1 year of law firm experience, particularly in documenting or enforcing commercial loans for institutional clients.

Duties:

• Conducting due diligence for commercial loans and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Handling UCC matters related to secured transactions.
• Performing debtor/creditor work and participating in broader bankruptcy cases.
• Documenting and negotiating sophisticated lending transactions.
• Providing support in the bankruptcy court and demonstrating familiarity with related procedures.

Requirements:

• Completion of a judicial clerkship for a bankruptcy judge or at least 1 year of relevant law firm experience.
• Knowledge and experience in due diligence, UCC, debtor/creditor work, secured transactions, and broader bankruptcy cases.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Prior clerkship experience is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar in Arizona.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of commercial loans and lending transactions.
• Proficient in conducting due diligence and handling UCC matters.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Negotiation and documentation skills in sophisticated lending transactions.
• Familiarity with bankruptcy court procedures.
